The Emergency First Aid at Work course is necessary for anyone  who is looking  to become an emergency first-aider in the workplace.

 

This one-day course meets the requirements of both the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

 

Course content 

 

  •  the roles and responsibilities of a first-aider
  •   importance of recording incidents and actions
  •   use of equipment, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  •   cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  •   administrating first aid to a choking casualty
  •   dealing with casualties with fractures, and spinal, head or chest injuries
  •   basic hygiene and preventing cross infection
  •   treatment of an unconscious casualty
  •   dealing with hypovolaemic shock
  •   dealing with wounds and bleeding
  •   dealing with minor injuries, including small cuts, grazes, bruises and small splinters
  •   dealing with minor burns and scalds
  •   dealing with choking
  •   dealing with seizures
